Our Projects

Being concerned with local issues like clean air and sustainable development, as well as larger issues like global warming and peak oil, we’re involved in our neighborhood in various ways:

  • Sustainable Food: Supporting a sustainable (local and/or organic) food supply is not just good for the planet, but good for your personal health and the local economy. Find out where to find sustainable food in the area.
  • Mobility: People need transportation options, and the city needs an intelligent transit system. We care about pedestrian, biking, and mass transit.
  • Energy: We all need it, but it should be used efficiently and provided sustainably. We work for renewable and efficient energy use.
  • Waste: We all leave some behind, and if it can be reduced or recycled, that’s the way to go. We support the Consumer Union’s Plan: Reaching for Zero Waste.
  • Community: Social ties and local involvement are good for humans and good for the environment. We encourage community-building and citizen action.
  • Development: As our neighborhood grows and builds, we should ensure that it is positive for humans and our environment. We like sustainable development.

In fact, we support any and all proven and novel ways of reducing our community’s negative impact on the environment. For a short list, we have ten things you can do in your everyday life to live more sustainably.

If you’d like to help us out, see what you can do to get involved! We’re open to comments and suggestions; please visit the Contact page if you’d like to pass something along.
